gadgetry

hmmmm, wonder if I can bolt a cog onto one of these puppies?
It's an 8 bolt pattern, proprietary I'm sure, doesn't look like a 19 or 20 would fit, too large of a bolt circle. Would need to change up gearing to something like 42/24 or 44/26 to make a large enough boltable cog from the looks of it. And that would totally change my ring clearance, thusly killing my world famous ninja log clearing skillz. So, forget it.

Mostly curious about how it would, if it can, read backpressure into the pedals. Or if it would even work as a flip flopper, do these things only read power in one direction of rotation? Bet those silly kids out west are drooling all over it...

that sure is a fancy doodad! it looks like 2-Epic could be tearin' the legs off some grasshoppers this year!

yeah, they definitely have an approach that's a bit 'foreign' to our area of the SS realm....and dammit, you know it'll work.

Is neat to see the science behind what I call riding a bike.

Am curious if that thing can record the opposing loads it would see as a fix though. How do they work? technically? some sort of strain gauge I imagine? I'm an engineerd afterall, maybe there's a link somewhere....

Thats neat, I guess if you flip flop it and use the the Tomi cog, now your Rotating the Tap in the oppossite direction - not sure if thats what you were askin...

ooo, pass the kleenex please.

The PT is uses strain gauges. They are using a proprietary bolt pattern for the rotor so a tomi cog won't work...it wouldn't measure power in that position anyway - otherwise every time you hit the brakes it would mess with the readings.

thanks Dave, that's what I was curious about, wondering if you'd see data go from posistive to negative depending on which way you're torquing the hub.
