fast & danger.

Remember this guy, internet legend. Ill Mitch. Gotta load him up into the iPod, quick snap.

Hope your wknd went well. Mine was quite awesome. Fought a mean little head cold all last week with the wknd in focus, as always. Qwik trip over to Roundtop Thursday night and conditions were really good, sweet carvable man made styrofoam. Bagged a few hot laps, just an hour and a half session to get the motor running for the wknd.

Alarm is bleeping Saturday 4am, into the shower, shuffle gear to the CR-Vizzle, splash-n-go roadtrip food stash from the Sheetz and onto 81 south, 5am. Find the next Sheetz in Chambersburg, more caffiene, Churtle and Jake load up the gear and we're WV bound for an 8:30ish arrival at the center of the nord universe, WhiteGrass. Decide to demo some new sticks and go with Karhu's new midfat waxless, the Guide.

Fast recap (yeah right) , local knowledge might help:

Qwik hit on Anita's Steeps to test sticks, $$$. Hot lap off Roundtop, $$$. Climb the Elevator, tour out to Weiss, explore the Rabbit Hole, freshies on the South Face, more fresh love in The Birches, steady gunnnin' climb back to the Pipeline Flat. Out around the Bald Shoulder, windblown knee deep down Springer to shelter. Left the lodge about ten past nine, no chronographic devices in our group and we're gueesing two and a half, maybe three hours. Just as we're finishing our snack, here comes a crew of Blacksburgers being chased by the C'ville mafia. Chat for a bit, it's well past one o'clock, which means about 4ish hours so far. Set out for a looksy at the Breakfast Bowl, reach the top and I don't recall putting my camera back in the pack. Well, guess we're heading back to the Springer Shelter unless we bump the C'ville crew and they tell me they picked it up....

Breakfast Bowl = $$$, we got third or so tracks down thru it, drop to the fenceline and surprise! C'ville crew is on the climb, Marty has my camera, give thanks, celebrate the day, then continue on our ways. Jake and Cheryl get some fresh lines along the fence and I hit the mostly schralped Funnel glade on the way to Springer for a thigh deep run down below FlatRock. I watched Cheryl and Jake take the low traverse back to the lodge, then turned up for a final lap off Roundtop. Stopped at Cathedral to admire my line from earlier and scope the 'huck' before finishing the climb to Roundtop. One final hot lap down the main slope and punch the clock at around 6.5hrs. Beer, pizza, beer, peanut butter pie, caffeine and junk food for the 3.5 hour drive home finished the day.

Does that count as 'training'?

Spent Sunday rippin' the shit outta Gunbarrel at Roundtop, got the tele workin', bitches. Worked it hard for four hours, never synced up Buck & Bender after snacktime though, damn.

The approaching saturday looks to be a skinnin' for vert, WG schralp mission...

game on.
