oh yay, another one

Jeb Bush:
“We need to make sure that we protect the right not just of having religious views, but the right of acting on those religious views,” he said.

Does this asshole understand how fucked up this view is and what a Pandora's box he opens up with that statement? Fucking conservatives.

Yeah!!!
Rights are stupid. I can't believe anyone would be for having rights!

Rights aren't stupid, take moment to actually read thru what he's saying and what the consequences are...

"but the right of acting on those religious views" opens up a whole realm of possibilities.....anybody wanna start up a new 'religion'? I've got a whole collection of beliefs I think would be pretty cool to act upon, and apparently that would be a.o.k. with good old Bush the Younger...

As long as your actions, being religious or otherwise, do not infringe on others rights there should be no issue. That is true freedom, of which we do not have here in America.
I think the root of your issue is with the word "religious" not "acting". What difference does it make if your actions are based on religious beliefs or personal beliefs? Same as if you have religious rights or personal rights. The key factor remains, if your actions do not infringe on other rights, you should be FREE to act.

Exactly. And by shrouding bigotry under the 'religious freedoms' blanket and infringing upon other's rights by doing so and legislating as such....it just opens a whole big anything goes can of worms. So yeah, sure, one of the roots of the issue is the use of 'religion' as an excuse to be a real asshole towards your fellow man.
