another new friend.
I am a lucky son of a bitch,
my new friend is so freakin' awesome!
qwik research and serial tell me 1980,
spokes & sneakers look & feel a little iffy,
but otherwise, this rig is pretty fuckin' tight.
pics can do the rest of the talking, needs
just a little bit of TLC to get rollin',
but we'll take our time and do it right.

neat.
had a good ride yesterday.
worked hard, the Sunday ride
allows that. always a couple
willing to play. want more
steady, sit back, they'll wait.
have I told you about my new bike?
I really like it.
Really put it thru the paces
last two wknds. First, the
Punk Bike holeshots, then
a 4:20 Meeshow beat down
yesterday. Feeling a bit worked.
Don't know if it's newbikeitus or the real
deal, but damn, that was one of my finest
trips across Rattlesnake, evah. Also took
the chance to find the edge along My Fave
with Lee & Bucky in tow.
Had to find it, ya know?
Glad their brakes were in order when I
'drifted' from one line to the other, that
almost got really interesting.
And the damn bike just kept rollin.
hardest part about it is keeping enough
oxygen in the brain to see straight.
everything else just seems to work out.
fkna.

just numbers
doing some in depth analysis.
32:16 x 26", 100 miles in 9:30 = 69 avg cadence.
pushing a 29er at 32:19 over 9 hours = 77.2 avg cadence.
32:17 drops it to 69.1 rpm.
spinning the 40:15 on the road bike at 17mph = 81 rpm.
what's that mean?
Well, guess I can either load up with a bigger gear and risk
bogging down too often, at least until that pedal stroke is
developed. Or work on upping sustainable leg speed,
which looks primarily like a fitness thing, vs more strength
based for the first, also a fitness thing, but different stress,
ya know?
Or simply let the previous approach evolve a bit and make
sure to run a tight ship on race day. Could easily cut 15 minutes
just by reducing off bike time.
But sometimes, you just need to take a few breaths and step away.
Often beneficial in the long run.....
